Edwards Air Force Base Medical Facilities Modernization
Location Edwards AFB, CA
Square Footage 40,796 SF
The renovation touched six departments, modernizing the medical treatment facility to better accommodate the facility's outpatient mission, consolidating medical assets, and meeting the ongoing healthcare needs of the beneficiary population. Departments included in renovations were Dental, Mental Health, Education and Training, Simulation Lab, Physical Therapy, and the Ambulance Garage. While under renovation, departments were moved to two temporary facilities. Mill Creek provided full initial outfitting and transition planning services for the project, including project management, inventory, artwork planning, interior design, medical equipment planning, transition planning and move management, low voltage/communications system design, FFE-LVS installation, public relations/special events, billings, close-out, and warranty.
On this project, Mill Creek's team proved the depth of their attention to detail and dedication to ensuring user satisfaction. A specific example of this was our work on the Dental Laboratory and Design room. These rooms have casework and equipment that needed to be coordinated very closely to ensure all requirements and connections were met. During the design process, the users noted they were receiving multiple new equipment items that needed to be planned for, as well as coordinated with the floor plan and casework. Mill Creek worked closely with the architect to ensure the space planning with casework and equipment, as well as electrical, data, and plumbing requirements could be met in order to deliver a fully comprehensive room that the users were happy with.
"Mill Creek was outstanding. The moves were large and comprehensive and required detailed coordination to complete the move in a timely manner. Tracy Truman and her team were incredible. Thank you for the tremendous effort." - Chris Borja, Edwards AFB Facility Manager
