Nebraska Medicine Project NExT Equipment Planning

Project NExT is a bed tower replacement project consisting of approximately 1.1M SF located on the primary campus in Omaha, NE. This large project is anticipated to require a 7-9 year effort for completion and preliminarily will include roughly 350 Inpatient Beds, 25 Operating Rooms, 4 Cath Lab Suites, 2 Interventional Suites, 100K square foot Emergency Department, shipping/receiving dock and building office and support spaces. The initial indication is that some areas will not be fully finished and will be left shelled for future development.
Programming, SD and DD phases are anticipated between Nov 2022 and December 2023 with construction beginning in early 2024and completing in 2030.
Mill Creek is being asked to assist Nebraska Medicine with building a conceptual equipment and furniture budget. Work on this conceptual budget is expected to start immediately with a requested substantial completion date of Sept 2, 2022. Mill Creek will be working primarily with Chad Kruse, Director of Campus Development, to define the expectations and breadth of scope for this effort. We are expecting no user meetings and no in person meetings for this effort.
