Prairie Band-Tepa Wins Contract at Whiteman AFB

Prairie Band-Tepa, a tribally-owned joint venture, was awarded a $42,000 contract to replace damaged windows at a guard-shack overlooking the LeMay gate at Whiteman Air Force Base. This project includes replacing three windows on the west side, two on the east side and one on the south side of the building. Prairie Band-Tepa will replace all six windows with new glass rated to UL 752 level 5 standard. Glass will be 1 5/8” thick TSS‐005 L/S clear glass-clad polycarbonate bullet resistant. Replacing these windows is critical to ensure the safety of the front line, as well as all personnel and assets on base.

The joint venture comprises Medvolt, LLC, a Tepa company, and Prairie Band Construction, Inc., a Prairie Band, LLC subsidiary. Medvolt is owned by the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians and delivers innovative infrastructure and building construction solutions using the latest technologies and techniques. Prairie Band Construction, Inc. is owned by the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and offers construction management, general contracting, and business management services.

“This project award is a critical milestone in the progression of the joint venture and the two Tribes working together. Once our team completes this project, our joint venture will have past performance to show, and this project will be the catalyst that ignites future contract awards,” said Prairie Band Construction Project Manager Josh Shinneman.

The benefits of the Prairie Band-Tepa joint venture include:

· Sole source contracting with a tribal joint venture
· Diverse contracting experience
